Adam and the End of Eden: Partnership in the face of Chronic Illness

From the moment that Eve took a bit of the apple, Adam’s life was never the same.

When someone we love is suddenly stricken with a life-threatening situation we are pulled inexorably into the river of their experience.   Drawn away from our secure perch on the bank of the river, we find ourselves in the midst of the stream of another’s life and death struggle, at the same time, more deeply into the turbulence of our own.  We find ourselves more than ever before terrified,  enraged,  frustrated, out of control, more loving and open hearted and undefended than we can ever have imagined.  We love more deeply,  cherish life more vividly and bring a new and compelling call to being, seeing and acting in an elemental way.  There is no going back.  The current takes us on our journey.

In this workshop we will explore the dynamic of relationship that is deeply altered  as we find ourselves in the valley of the shadow of death.   We will identify the challenges and the gifts of this experience  of loss, and from our own lives draw what we need to facilitate our work with others.
